Endovascular Treatment
Endovascular Treatment in Dubai at Esteem Medical Clinic
EVLA - Endovenous Laser Ablation
Higher success rates, shorter recovery
Endovascular Treatment, also known as Endovenous Laser Ablation (EVLA) of Fotona, is a procedure used at Esteem Medical Clinic in Dubai that operates on the idea of thermally induced ablation and photocoagulation of the vein’s inner layers. EVLA is progressively displacing traditional surgical stripping and ligation since laser therapies have proven to be less intrusive, have a lower rate of complications, and have great patient tolerability.
Faster Healing and Greater Patient Comfort
How does Endovascular Treatment work?
An optical fiber is placed into the vein that has to be treated in Fotona’s EVLA/Endovascular Treatment, and QCW Nd: YAG laser energy is then delivered into the vein’s interior. The vein shrinks when the vein wall is damaged and the optical fiber is gradually removed. The vein becomes occluded as a result, and the healthy veins around it can then resume the regular flow of blood to the treated area. Depending on the size and quantity of varicose veins, the treatment can be finished in under an hour while being done under local anesthesia.
The following are the general steps of the treatment:
Step 1 – ACCESS:
An entry hole is made in the vein by puncturing it with a G19 needle while being controlled by ultrasound, allowing the laser fiber to be introduced into the vein via a catheter. In order to place the fiber in the vein appropriately, ultrasound is also employed.
Step 2 – PROTECT:
A syringe or specialized pump is used to provide a tumescent anesthetic. Tumescent anesthesia produces a cool shield in the vein to shelter the surrounding tissue from injury and has analgesic and vasoconstrictor effects.
Step 3 – OCCLUDE:
A bare laser fiber housed inside a catheter delivers laser energy from a 1064 nm Nd: YAG laser to the targeted venous site. The heat energy is deposited into the blood and vein wall as the laser is repeatedly fired and then gradually withdrawn.
Why is Fotona perfect for Endovascular Treatment?
The wavelength of Fotona allows for the most efficient delivery of laser energy into vein walls. Due to its excellent accuracy and level of hemoglobin absorption, it prevents damaging mechanical and heat effects on the surrounding tissues.
